Faith in Times of Trial 3/3

Part 3: Faith Exalts God Despite the Circumstances

Genesis 40:23

Joseph had interpreted the butler’s dream correctly, and the butler was restored to his position. Surely, Joseph must have thought his freedom was near. But the butler forgot him. For two more years, Joseph remained in prison, seemingly forgotten.

How do we respond when our hope is crushed? Joseph could have chosen bitterness. He could have turned away from God in frustration. Instead, he remained faithful. He did not allow disappointment to define his faith.

Even when people fail us, God never does. “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love…” (Hebrews 6:10). We must remember that delays are not denials. God’s timing is perfect, even when it does not match our expectations.

  • Do not place your ultimate trust in people, but in God.
  • Disappointment should not lead to bitterness.
  • Trust that God’s timing is perfect, even in seasons of waiting.

Have you been waiting on God and feel forgotten? Trust that He sees you, loves you, and is working behind the scenes.
