Beacons

Since Monday we have distributed around 3000 Beacons to the community. We have covered a lot of ground but still have around 2000 left to give away. I appreciate LaGrande and Brandon coming over to help us this week with this work. It was also good to have Peter, Stephen and Sam getting involved.

Preaching at Ballyclare Baptist Church

Tomorrow I will be preaching at Ballyclare Baptist Church. We live in Ballyclare, even though the church where we minister is a few miles down the road in Glengormley. Ballyclare is a relatively large church and has a good foundation. The pastor, Stephen Boreland, is a very good friend and has been a tremendous help … Read more

Ulster Bonfire

In an earlier blog I mentioned the bonfires that they build here in Northern Ireland. On the news earlier they had a special piece on the bonfires which through much pain and delays I have managed to video and then copy onto the computer. I would share the process, but that would only bore you. … Read more

Cultural Learnings

Something that any person who moves from country to country must learn is the local culture. This is especially necessary for pastors and missionaries. I know many missionaries who struggle and even fail because they do not recognise and accept some elements of the local culture. One such local event occurs here in Northern Ireland … Read more

The Bible and Addictions

Today we held our final service in our Spring Bible and Life series. Layton Kelly, from Lifegate Bible Baptist Church, Dublin, came up for the day. Layton has a tremendous testimony of how the Lord saved him from a life of drugs and destitution. The change in Layton's life can only be accounted for by … Read more

Trip to Bangor

Today we took the opportunity to go to Bangor, a seaside town about 45 minutes from home. We had to get some new shoes for Ashleigh, whose feet keep growing, and we wanted to show Chelsea Bopp some more of Northern Ireland. Chelsea Bopp has been with us since the 5th of June and will … Read more
