Introducing Joseph 3/3: Prophecies

Scripture Reading: Genesis 37:5-11; Jeremiah 29:11; Proverbs 3:5-6

On Sunday we continued our series of sermons at Bedford Bible Church going through the Book of Genesis. We’re picking back up after a short break with the life of Joseph. This is part 3 of 3 summarizing that sermon with some devotional thoughts. You can listen to the whole service and sermon here: https://bedfordbiblechurch.sermon.net/main/main/22358612

Joseph’s life is defined, largely, by his integrity, faith, and forgiveness.

Prophecies
Joseph’s dreams revealed a glimpse of God’s plan for his life—a plan of leadership and provision. He could not know at the time, but they were prophecies of God’s plan for his life. Though he didn’t fully understand their meaning, Joseph trusted God and shared the dreams honestly. His brothers responded with hatred, assuming malicious intent. Yet, Joseph’s heart was humble, not arrogant.

God also has a specific purpose for each of our lives. Like Joseph, we may not understand every stop along the way, but we can trust that God is directing our path. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to trust the Lord with all our heart, acknowledging Him in all our ways, and He will direct our path.

  1. Are you trusting God with the unknowns of your life?
  2. How can you align your daily choices with His purposes?
