For a long time, I have wanted to write something to help children learn how to read and understand the Bible for themselves. This coloring book is the result. I completed it earlier this year, but have been so busy with other projects that I haven’t had time to launch it.
My goal for this coloring book is to do more than just keep kids busy, but to help them understand the Bible for themselves, and know why they believe what they believe.
God’s Big Plan is a Scripture-Based coloring book exploring Bible history, prophecy, and God’s Promises. It shows children that the Bible is not a collection of disconnected stories, but one unfolding story of God’s perfect plan, from the Garden of Eden to the New Heaven and New Earth.
Each lesson combines an original coloring illustration with Scripture, a memorable Bible truth, a “Did You Know?” feature, and questions to encourage discussion. Children are introduced to practical principles for studying God’s Word, learning to:
- Read the Bible in its normal, literal sense.
- Understand Bible events in their historical context.
- Pay attention to the meaning of words and the purpose of Scripture.
- Recognize God’s unfolding plan through the different dispensations.
- Understand the distinction between Israel and the Church.
- Discover the difference between fulfilled prophecy and promises yet to come.
Why is this especially important today?
As antisemitism rises in society, and troubling attitudes toward Israel are sometimes expressed even within churches, our children need to understand what God has actually said about Israel and the Church. We must learn to see both from God’s perspective, rather than allowing popular opinion or political arguments to shape our understanding of Scripture.
God made specific promises to Israel, and He has not forgotten them. The Church has a distinct place in His plan, and God is faithful to His promises to both. Understanding these truths matters because we must let the Bible shape our thinking, not reshape the Bible to fit our thinking.
But God’s Big Plan is about more than promoting a particular theological position.
Dispensationalism is an important part of the book, but its deeper purpose is to help children learn how to interpret the Bible faithfully. Children are encouraged to consider the historical setting of a passage, understand words in their normal sense, recognize who God is speaking to, and distinguish between promises and responsibilities given in different contexts.

These are essential principles for anyone who wants to understand Scripture as God intended. By learning to apply them, children can see how the Bible fits together, understand why dispensationalists believe what they do, and develop the ability to examine Scripture for themselves.
At a time when dispensationalism is often misunderstood or even deliberately misrepresented, we need to equip the next generation to respond with biblical understanding rather than simply repeating what they have been told.
We must teach our children not only what we believe, but why we believe it, and how we arrive at our convictions from the Word of God.
Whether used for family devotions, Sunday school, children’s church, homeschooling, or personal study, God’s Big Plan encourages children to do more than learn Bible stories. It helps them develop the tools to understand what they read, see how the pieces fit together, and grow in their confidence in God’s Word.
Give your children more than something to color. Give them a foundation for understanding Scripture, standing on its truth, and knowing why they believe what they believe.
